Steps to Configure Call ForwardingStep 1: Access the Admin Portal
- Go to admin.vonage.com
- Log in with your credentials
- Click Phone System (left menu)
- Click Extensions
- Click on the extension you want to configure (e.g., Extension 405)
- Find the Forward Calls section
- Toggle Forward Calls to ON (turns purple)
- Select the Follow Me option
- Under “When my phone rings…”
- Click “Select an extension” dropdown
- Select This Extension (desk phone rings first)
- Set ring duration: 2 Rings - 10 Sec (recommended)
- Click “Add Another Rule”
- Click “Add New Number”
- Enter the external phone number (10-digit format)
- Set ring duration: 4 Rings - 20 Sec
- Under “If no answer, send to voicemail of”
- Select “This Extension’s Voicemail”
- Under “Use Caller ID”
- Select “Originating Caller ID”
- Click Save
- Ring desk phone (10 seconds)
- Ring external number (20 seconds)
- Go to voicemail if no answer
⚠️ This forwards calls 24/7. For after-hours only forwarding, you’ll need to manually toggle it on/off daily or use an Advanced Virtual Receptionist.
