Overview
AI Skills are reusable instructions and supporting files that help Ask Z and AI Experts perform focused jobs. The Skills catalog in AI Studio shows organization and private skills that are currently available to your agent. Use this guide when you want to find an existing skill, check whether a skill is private or organization-wide, preview its files, remove outdated skill material, or ask Z to create a new reusable skill.Open the Skills Catalog
- Open AI Studio.
- Go to Skills.
- Review the list of available skills.
Search and Filter Skills
Use Search skills… to search skill names, descriptions, and file paths. Use Filter Skills to narrow the catalog by access scope:
If the list is empty after searching or filtering, adjust the search term or clear the active filters.
Add a Skill With Ask Z
Click Add skill when you want Ask Z to help author a reusable skill. Z360 opens Ask Z with a prepared prompt for creating a skill for your organization or your own work. Before asking Ask Z to create a skill, decide:- What job the skill should support
- Whether it should be private or organization-wide
- Which examples, rules, or source material the skill should include
- Which expert or workflow will use the skill
Review Skill Files
Skills can include one file or multiple files.- Single-file skills open directly in the preview.
- Multi-file skills can be expanded under Files.
- Select a file to preview its contents.
- Review names, descriptions, instructions, and supporting examples before relying on the expert.
Remove a Skill or Reference File
Authorized users can remove an entire Skill or an individual reference file when it is no longer safe or useful. Use deletion when:- A skill follows an outdated process.
- A reference file contains obsolete examples.
- A private skill should no longer be available.
- A replacement skill has already been tested.
When to Update an Expert’s Skills
Update or replace expert skills when:- The expert is following outdated instructions.
- A business process changed.
- The expert needs a narrower or clearer job.
- A supporting example no longer matches your customer workflow.
- You want to remove guidance that should not be used in customer-facing work.
Best Practices
- Keep skills tied to one job.
- Review skill contents before enabling scheduled or connected-app automation.
- Keep sensitive workflows on approval until the expert and its skills have been tested.
- Remove outdated instructions instead of adding conflicting guidance.
- Delete obsolete reference files when they should no longer influence Ask Z.
- Use clear file names so teammates can understand what each skill contributes.
