# Manage Ask Z Memory

> Review and update organization and user memory files that help Ask Z keep durable context.

### **Overview**

Ask Z memory gives the assistant durable context it can use across work sessions. The Memory page in AI Studio lets authorized teammates review and update saved organization and user context.

Memory is different from the Knowledge Base. The Knowledge Base stores reference content for customer-facing answers and business information. Memory stores assistant context, preferences, recurring facts, and learned details that help Ask Z work more consistently.

### **Memory Types**

Z360 shows memory in two scopes and two types.

| Area                | What it means                                                                       |
| ------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Organization** | Context shared across the organization. |
| **User** | Context scoped to an individual teammate. |
| **Semantic memory** | Standing context loaded every turn, such as durable preferences or operating notes. |
| **Episodic memory** | Past event context available on demand. |

The default semantic memory file is shown as `AGENTS.md` when no custom semantic memory file exists yet.

### **Open Memory**

1. Open **AI Studio**.
2. Go to **Memory**.
3. Choose **Organization** or **User**.
4. Select a memory file from **Memory files**.

The right panel shows the selected file path, scope, memory type, and file content.

### **Review Organization Memory**

Use organization memory for context that should apply broadly, such as:

* Company-wide assistant instructions
* Shared naming preferences
* Important workflow rules
* Common business context Ask Z should remember

Review organization memory carefully because changes can affect how Ask Z behaves for the team.

### **Review User Memory**

Use user memory for teammate-specific context, such as:

* Personal work preferences
* Role-specific notes
* Individual follow-up patterns
* Context that should not apply to the whole organization

User memory helps Ask Z keep personal working context separate from organization-wide context.

### **Edit and Save Memory**

1. Select the memory file.
2. Edit the content in the text area.
3. Click **Save**.
4. Wait for the **Memory saved** confirmation.

The **Save** button is enabled only when the content has changed and the file is loaded.

### **When to Update Memory**

Update memory when:

* Ask Z keeps missing a stable preference
* A recurring business rule changed
* Your team wants Ask Z to keep a durable instruction
* A saved detail is wrong or outdated
* You want to clean up confusing assistant context

Do not use memory for one-time tasks, temporary drafts, or sensitive information that should not be reused later.

### **Best Practices**

* Keep semantic memory concise and durable.
* Put temporary project details in the active Ask Z thread instead of memory.
* Use organization memory only for facts the whole team should share.
* Review memory after major process changes.
* Remove outdated context instead of adding conflicting instructions.
